Thursday, March 31st - 10:00 am – 7:00 pm Ohio Student Wildlife Research Symposium - There is a Separate Registration through EECO for this program.
Join high school students and teachers from around Ohio as they present their wildlife and habitat research projects in this fourth annual research symposium for high school students. There are half and full day registration options. REGISTTRATION for the Student Wildlife Research Symposium will be available soon.

Friday Night OPEN SPACE: Have you ever had a topic that you would like to discuss at an EECO Conference? Great! Bring your topic ideas and your expertise to the EECO Open Space! During the Open Space we will have attendees put up topics they would like to discuss around Environmental Education, Outdoor Education, and Nonprofit/small organizations. Once the topics have been specified we will break up into small groups to discuss the topics. If the group you start out in is not your cup of tea please feel free to join another group, or feel free to float to various groups. We are excited to see what "Aha" moments are formed from this Friday evening activity. Lead by two EECO Board Members- Bill Troy and Josh Dyer.

EECO Kids Conference 2022 - On Saturday, while you are attending EECO conference sessions, your child/children can, too! EECO is offering a Mini Conference for kids! Kids will LEARN about Environmental Education and gain an appreciation for nature and environmental stewardship. Like our adult attendees, they will CONNECT with new friends in a positive and supportive setting. This is a fabulous opportunity to enjoy the conference and begin a family tradition for your children to GROW into our future EECO Leaders, all while enjoying the amenities of the state park! Ages 6 and up are welcome!
$15 fee per child will be charged for the full 4 session kids conference. This is payable at the registration table. Lunch is not provided. Children’s meal tickets will be available at the registration table.

Keynote: Shawn Connor, Into the Big WoodsJoin Shawn Connor to learn about the history and importance of “The Big Woods”. This 200-acre remnant beech-maple forest towering over a carpet of ferns and wildflowers has been recognizes as a national natural landmark.
Shawn Conner begun his career with ODNR in 1999 working seasonally at the marina, campground, and maintenance. Shawn graduated from Wittenberg University with a degree in Biology. He has been the Naturalist of the Hueston Woods Nature Center since 2006. Shawn enjoys the diverse opportunities the park offers to his workday, the visitor’s experience, and the park’s wildlife inhabitants!
- Educational Workshops on CLIMATE with Project WET, WILD and Learning Tree; and My Backyard Stream (field trip and workshop)
- Field Trips: Miami Museums and Ecological Center; Spring Flowers; and Fossil Field Trip exploring the rocks of Hueston Woods. There will also be an "EECO Tour" on Sunday. For more information about the EECO Tour click here.
- We are seeking Graduate credit available through Ashland University for $210 for one credit hour.
